CHESHIRE CAT PUPPET
The Cheshire Cat is one of the main characters in Wonderland who actually listens to Alice and teaches her the rules of Wonderland. He also causes trouble for her throughout the movie, which moves the story along. In my research I came across the alebrije. An alebrije is a spirit animal in the Mexican culture, meant to guide you through your life. These animals guide you through life and push us toward adventure. The Cheshire Cat acts as Alice’s alebrije throughout Wonderland. Through the use of color, texture and movement, I created a whimsical puppet that captures the Cheshire Cat’s essence.
